Fernan-Vaz Gorilla Project Foundation

SCD Fernan-Vaz Gorilla Project Foundation (RSIN 8213.35.935) was established in 2009. The foundation’s office is located in Arnhem, at Westervoortsedijk 71K.

The aim of the foundation is the sustainable protection of West Central African nature, in particular creating a stable living environment for the gorillas in this area.

The Foundation tries to achieve its objective, among other things, by raising funds and by performing all other actions that serve its purpose, including information and education as well as – conducting scientific research or having it carried out. The foundation is a non-profit foundation. No remuneration can be awarded to the members of the board.

The SCD Fernan-Vaz foundation supports the Project Gorille Fernan-Vaz foundation, which is located in Gabon (https://gorillasgabon.org/). Their main goal is to rescue the gorillas, care for them and then release gorillas back into the wild. The two foundations have came to a cooperation because of the enormous similarities in goals.

Activity plan

The foundation’s main activity is to manage and send money to the supported foundation. As mentioned before, the two foundations have great similarities in their goals. That is why the SCD foundation transfers a fixed amount to the supported foundation every month.

No active meetings are planned, if necessary the board can be convened and a meeting will be scheduled. The reason that no activities are taking place is because the money needs of the supported foundation have been met in recent years.

Policy plan

The purpose of the foundation is to raise money to achieve the purpose of the supported foundation.

The main task of the foundation is to forward the money, that comes in from the lender, to the supported foundation.

If the supported foundation is short of money, the foundation will start collecting money from external sources. This is done by indicating the need via the existing network.
