Immersive wilderness experiences

Enjoy a true wilderness experience in the different parts of Loango National Park. You will be completely immersed in a peaceful jungle setting, allowing all your senses to be overwhelmed by the wonder that is Africa’s Eden. Each satellite camp is designed to showcase a different perspective on the park’s unique habitats and wildlife:

  • Akaka Forest Camp – A true jungle immersion, located in one of the remotest parts of Loango. Guests were surrounded by pristine rainforest, with the chance to experience the sights and sounds of the jungle in complete seclusion.
  • Tassi Savannah Camp – Situated where forest meets ocean, Tassi is one of the rare places on earth where elephants and buffalo roam freely on the beach. Gorillas may also be spotted in the treeline, and the beaches host important nesting and feeding grounds for sea turtles shorebirds such as African skimmers and Damara terns.
  • Louri Wilderness Camp – A small, intimate tented camp with each tent on a platform overlooking the lagoon. Tents are equipped with semi-open air bathrooms with flush toilets and running water. Charging points, LED lights and pedestals fans are available.
  • St Catherine’s Beach Camp – St. Catherine Beach Camp offer a simple yet unforgettable base along one of Gabon’s most pristine stretches of coastline. Set directly on the beach, the camp provided front-row access to the dramatic meeting of Atlantic Ocean and rainforest and forest elephants, hippos, and buffalos wandering onto the sand
